Sure Guernsey Marathon 2024

A record breaking year for Sure Guernsey Marathon 2024

The Sure Guernsey Marathon 2024 was undoubtedly one to remember. Records were smashed, personal bests were blown out the park, and 80s themed stilt walkers were our crowd pleasers of choice!

We had over 200 runners from 11 different countries take on the full marathon this year, 50 relay teams and hundreds of participants for the Marathon Mile.

Sport is such an integral aspect of culture and life in Guernsey, and running a marathon is no small feat. We are amazed each year at the incredible amount of training and preparation that runners put into the race each year, and how willing people are to take on such a challenge.

French runner Guillaume Ruel won the marathon with an impressive time of 02:31:29, beating the previous record. His brother, Pierre-Antoine Ruel, crossed the finish line just four minutes later and took second place. Not only that, but the first Guernsey man to finish, Ethan Woodhead, shared a victory with his girlfriend Lindsay Sword, the first woman to complete the race.

Sport truly has the power to connect people and we’re proud to have sponsored this event for the past three years, providing runners with key technology and equipment, including mats on the road to detect chips in runners' bibs, and 4G SIM cards in timing devices that connect to Sure's lightning-fast network.

Roll on the next three years!
