Sure Annual Junior Meet went swimmingly
As part of our commitment to supporting Guernsey sports, we sponsored Guernsey Swimming’s Annual Junior Meet on 20 May at St Sampsons High School, which saw Channel Island swimmers come together to go head-to-head in the competition.
The swimmers, aged 9-11, were racing against each other and the clock to win the competition and gain personal bests in a variety of individual and relay races.
The Guernsey Swimming Club, Beau Sejour Barracudas, Calligo Tigers Swimming Club and the Jersey Swimming Club were all involved in the event, having trained their swimmers for the competitions throughout the year. The Beau Sejour Barracudas came out on top with 430.50 points.
This is the second event we have sponsored for the Guernsey Swimming Club, the first being the Sure Island Swimming Championships in November 2022.
Alistair Beak, Group CEO at Sure, said: “We’re passionate about supporting local sports as it connects the community, which is why we’re proud to be involved in Guernsey Swimming’s meets. The meets give the island’s young swimmers a chance to test themselves against other swimmers, which is an important part of achieving progress in their chosen sport. I was happy to give out medals to each swimmer, and congratulations to the Beau Sejour Barracudas for winning overall!”
We sponsor many grassroots sporting teams and events throughout the year, giving back to the local sporting community.
