New Hockey Development Officer is supported by Sure

We are once again proving our commitment to local sports by providing Guernsey Hockey’s new development officer, Sam Watson, with an Unlimited Max mobile plan.

This allows Sam to have unlimited calls, unlimited data, and unlimited texts which are essential to the great work he does for local sport.

As Development Officer, Sam’s responsibilities include field hockey coaching, providing training for school children and adults and updating Guernsey Hockey’s social media channels, which is why he needs consistent access to phone calls, texts and mobile data to ensure that Guernsey Hockey training sessions run as smoothly as possible.

Sam said: “I am very grateful for Sure’s donation, as having unlimited mobile data enables me to have constant access to online messages and emails whilst I’m out coaching. This lets me provide instant help regarding any hockey-related problems.

“It also lets me to take a digital register on the pitch through our online platform, Pitchero, and I can handle admin work during breaks between delivering hockey sessions at schools. This means I can update team sheets, organise fixtures, write messages, and get in touch with players on the go.

“The unlimited data package will also help me run Guernsey Hockey’s social media with upload timely posts and stories from the pitch. Not having to worry about running out of data or minutes is also vital should a player not turn up for any reason and I need to check that they’re alright.”

Our donation to Guernsey Hockey reflects Sure’s ongoing commitment to local sport. We support six local sports teams, spanning running, hockey, swimming events, volleyball, touch rugby, and cycling. Sponsorships include the Sure Academy (in partnership with Ian Brown’s Cycle Shop), the Sure Guernsey Marathon, the Sure Scorpions touch rugby team, the Sure Spikers volleyball team, and the Sure Colombians.

Sure is looking forward to being the technology partner at the Guernsey 2023 NatWest International Island Games. We’ll be supplying the latest broadband and mobile technology to local sports venues as well as enhancing the connectivity for spectators and visiting competitors. We want the next Island Games to be the most connected ever and are already working hard to make that happen.
