Sure Community Foundation reaches huge £300k milestone

The Sure Community Foundation, a registered charity that offers support through donations to non-profit organisations, has reached the huge £300,000 milestone which coincides with a decade of giving to great causes.

The Foundation is managed by trustees formed from Sure employees and is purely funded by a combination of staff and business donations. It plays a vital role in the communities across Guernsey, Jersey, and the Isle of Man, and since 2012 60 charities have benefitted.

This year the Foundation donated £600 to Code Club in the Isle of Man. Code Club is an organisation aimed at providing a focal point for people of all ages to develop digital skills, share their knowledge and experience and teach others how to leverage technology. The money was used to purchase a 3D printer that prints at a 45-degree angle. This enables them to print infinitely long items.

Adam Drummond, Assets Manager at Code Club, said: “We can only run thanks to sponsorships and donations, so the Sure Community Foundation’s support is a real benefit.”

Lucienne De La Mare, Chair of the Sure Community Foundation said: “We have been in place for ten years now and it is a great achievement to have reached our £300k milestone, the foundation is built on the dedication and kindness of Sure employees. The foundation’s work has made a valuable impact across the community.”

Other Isle of Man charities that have been supported by the Sure Community Foundation in 2022 include Age Concern, Graih, Royal British Legion, and A Little Piece of Hope.
