Sure Community Foundation nominated for Guernsey Community Foundation Award

The Sure Community Foundation has once again been nominated for the Corporate Social Responsibility Award at the Guernsey Community Foundation Awards.

This accolade honours the efforts of companies which play an active role in the community through charitable or voluntary projects. It may also recognise those with ongoing partnerships with a local charity, voluntary, or community organisation that has quantifiably been improved by its support.

The Sure Community Foundation regularly contributes to good causes around the Bailiwick. From our sponsorship of the Ron Short Centre, which saw the purchasing of essential new tools to improve accessibility for its members, to donating handsets to the Guernsey Bereavement Service, we’re always looking to help local causes in any way we can.

Three organisations have made the shortlist, and the winner will be announced at the awards ceremony at St. James on 16 November and £2,000 will be donated to a charity of their choice.

Karen Jagger of the Sure Community Foundation said: “We are honoured to have been nominated for the Corporate Social Responsibility award for the fourth time. The Foundation has continued to support a variety of good causes despite the challenges faced by the pandemic, and this nomination just reaffirms how effective that support has been. Being shortlisted is fantastic not only for our hardworking committee of volunteers, but for everyone at Sure who contributes to the Foundation’s fundraising and success.”

The awards are an annual event organised by the Guernsey Community Foundation. They are designed to highlight and platform philanthropy around the Bailiwick. Tickets are now available to the public and can be purchased here.
