We are very proud to sponsor the Sure Guernsey Marathon. We're passionate about our community and look forward to bringing runners and athletes of all abilities together for the 2023 Sure Guernsey Marathon.
Keeping better pace
This year's event is going to be the most technologically-enabled marathon the island has ever seen. Connectivity and timekeeping technology will enhance the race for competitors, organisers and spectators - all supported by our network.
The most tech-enabled marathon
The runners will benefit from technology that improves the accuracy of their race times including a timing decoder, mats on the roads and chips in their bibs.
These work together - using our 4G mobile network - to upload times and places to a live online portal. Mats will be at the start, halfway mark, South Esplanade and the finish line. As part of the legacy of our sponsorship, the equipment is being donated to Guernsey Athletics for use around the racing year.
Join us
We love how sport connects people and the Guernsey Marathon is an event for whole community to enjoy. This year's event is on Sunday 2nd April so come and join us at the Marathon Village at Havelet from 9am.
Sure volunteers will be there on the day to help the organisers make everything run smoothly. If you can't make it, we're providing a live stream of the leading runners and the finishing line.
Some of our team will also be running in the relay and as individuals so watch out for them training and taking part. We're passionate about making the Guernsey Marathon 2023 the best one yet!
Donate your running gear
To create a greener marathon, we have set up a sports clothing donation scheme, so people can donate their old and no-longer-used running clothes and shoes to people in Turi in Kenya.
Anyone can donate unneeded sports kit, in child and adult sizes, in the Sure High Street shop throughout April.
Operating in a sustainable way is important to Sure so we’re happy to be working closely with the Elizabeth College Turi Expedition team who will deliver the clothing directly to help people in need on their annual expedition.
